AUDYN True Copper Max

The 3rd Generation of the Audyn True Copper series of capacitors. The Copper Cap max, combines the technology and advantages of the Audyn True Copper, Audyn Reference and the Audyn Plus in one component without compromise. These high copper content capacitors offer no cross-contamination with mystical fairy-like oils or other metal types.

AUDYN Cap Plus

Polypropylene capacitors are constructed with two separate polypropylene foils connected in series, bi-filar. Thus they are non-inductive with damping depletion.
 These ultra-low loss capacitors have been developed for extreme impulse/power handling. An important design/constructional feature is the power handling of the connection between the foils (electrodes) and the end leads. The AUDYN CAP PLUS has a vastly improved system of connecting the electrodes to the end leads. AUDYN CAP PLUS also utilises an internal series connection system whereby layers of metal foil are combined with a one-sided metallized "blind" layer. Super MKP capacitors are made with a double lane of metalized polypropylene foil, hence a double foil construction. By using special winding machines and winding techniques, two capacitors are connected in series within one capacitor housing, When making this type of capacitor you therefore need 4 times the foil used in standard type metalized polypropylene foil capacitors.
Compared to standard type metalized polypropylene foil capacitors, the Superior Z-Cap is on a higher audiophile level, where even finest nuance improvements can be heard.

Where the Superior Z-Cap is made with pure copper lead-wires, the Silver Z-Cap is made with pure silver lead-wires, giving the Silver Z a slightly different sound “flavor” tailored to silver based component enthusiasts. Highly recommended for tweeters and mid-range application for high-end passive speakers and as coupling capacitors in tube and power amplifiers. The Silver Z-Cap is a metalized polypropylene foil capacitor but made as special construction we call a “Super MPK Capacitor”.

The Standard-Z Cap is our entry level audiophile capacitor. It positions higher in our capacitor hierarchy above the Cross Cap, but below the Superior Z-cap.
It is a single foil standard type MKP capacitor that uses the highest possible quality aluminum based metalized PP foil. It uses the same foil as our Superior- and Silver Z-caps, but in this application as a single foil capacitor (single capacitor per housing).

The Alumen Z-Cap is a high-end pure aluminum foil capacitor, designed specifically for passive crossovers (tweeters and midrange drivers). The usage of a thinner dielectric insulator allows for a capacitors with less “memory” and one that is much faster reacting.
The Alumen Z-Cap offers unparalleled value for money in terms of cost versus performance. Specifically designed for the tweeter and upper mid-range sections on passive crossovers. Compared to the Superior and Silver Z-Caps (Super MKP / double metallized polypropylene foil) capacitors, the Alumen Z-Cap will bring less brightness and a little more natural top end balance to your system.

The Amber Z-Cap is a super high-end pure copper foil capacitor, designed specifically for passive crossovers. They are primarily meant for the tweeter section of crossovers but work equally well for upper mid-range application. The Amber Z-Cap builds on the same design principles of our already critically acclaimed Alumen Z-Caps. The differences between the two are subtle, but to the connoisseur listener, the listening experience will still be a clear improvement in the overall tonal balance. Copper foil gives the capacitor an even better sonic “flavor” compared to aluminum foil. The sonic “flavor” of copper foil is best described as giving an even more neutral/natural depiction of vocals and instruments compared to the Alumen Z-cap.

The Cross Coil was developed in cooperation with Mr. Per Skaaning from Audio Technology (Denmark). It is a high-performance foil inductor offering improved power handling and dynamic head room. Using pure copper foil, we have insured a better surface for electron travel, a better distortion reduction, a higher power handling and improved dynamic headroom, compared to wire-based inductors. The coil is wrapped in clear shrink foil to protect the outer layer of foil and to help maintain the integrity of the windings.

The Wax Coil is a paraffin-wax impregnated foil-based inductor. It is a high-performance foil inductor offering improved power handling and dynamic head room, compared to mainly single wire-based inductors, but also compared to litz multi-strand wire inductors. The wax impregnation protects the copper foil and ensures the integrity of the windings for decades of high performance. Using pure copper foil we have ensured a larger and better surface for electron travel and a great reduction in unwanted distortion.
